Erith were awarded the bulk asbestos removal and demolition of Pfizer pharmaceutical facility back in2009. The project involved testing for contamination, subsequent remediation and decontamination of major manufacturing facilities prior to dismantling them. Of particular note was the removal of over 2km of thermally insulated pipework, 10,000 square metres of amosite insulation board and 10,000 square metres of chrysotile cement sheeting.
Our asbestos removal division, working in conjunction with our demolition division, has added genuine value for the client through reduced communication and providing a sole point of contact.
Pfizer, as a worldwide pharmaceutical industry leader, demands the very highest standards not just in health, safety and environmental practices but also in commercial, professional and managerial processes and we were pleased to announce that Erith achieved 9 out of a possible 9 in Pfizer’s most recent 2 yearly Contractor Competency Assessment. The works at Pfizer required a collaborative approach with interface with other specialist contractors including mechanical,
scaffolding, electrical trades and two other demolition contractors.
