The NFDC 2018 AGM and Awards proved a successful event for Erith last Friday. The celebration recognised the sterling work of our employee, Kevan Hall, and the Group’s collective contribution to enabling young workers with opportunities and support in our industry.
Awarding the coveted Demolition Apprentice of the Year 2018 to Kevan Hall represents a culmination of a two-year journey between himself and the Erith Group. In 2016, Kevan joined as part of the collaboration between Erith and the Passion Project. This scheme was targeted towards helping individuals between the age of 16-24, who have had difficulty in finding the right career path.
Through this scheme, the Erith Group provided Kevan with an opportunity to explore his interest in the demolition industry. Kevan has excelled since his apprenticeship began, reiterating that our industry was the right choice for him and underpinning the Erith Group as the correct environment in which he can grow.
Kevan’s development through his two years with the Group has been assured and consistent. His attitude towards work and aptitude for the industry has seen him assigned to the high-profile Hanover Square and 22 Hanover projects. Within these projects, Kevan has been tasked several responsibilities, such as Traffic Marshall and Demolition Operative.
Working under the support and guidance of the London demolition team, Kevan has matured into a valued member of our employee pool. He serves as a testament to the work we deliver, and will continue to provide, regarding the fostering of talent for the Group and the Industry at large.
The NFDC Judges commented: “”A young apprentice who came to Erith via the Passion Project, Kevan consistently works hard and is a great team player. His supervisors are delighted with his ‘can do’ attitude and the skills he has developed in only 2 years on the job. The judges felt that Kevan thoroughly deserved to win this award.”
