Erith were delighted to receive the first ever Demolition Contractor of the Year award at the inaugural British Demolition Awards ceremony last month. Hosted at the Belfry Hotel and Resort, some of the industry’s leading experts congregated to celebrate the very best of British Demolition.
This award will have pride of place in our teeming trophy cabinet alongside the other astounding 13 awards we have won in the past 12 months alone. Our outstanding achievements over the past year can be directly attributed to the significant investment Erith have put in to raising standards of health and safety, particularly with regards to occupational health, reducing our carbon impact, up-skilling our workforce and modernising our plant and equipment.
Projects contributing to our unprecedented success include:
- Stanhope Gate – Demolition and 5-storey top-down basement construction located adjacent to the 5* luxury hotel, The Dorchester, in Mayfair.
- Marble Arch Place – Demolition of a 24-storey tower block and cinema complex adjacent to Marble Arch Station.
- 33 Grosvenor Place – Demolition and large-scale façade retention project bordering Buckingham Palace Gardens. This project also featured the UK’s largest ever building wrap. Click here for more information.
Erith’s Demolition Managing Director, David Darsey, commented after receiving the award: “We are tremendously proud of adding yet another accolade to our long list of achievements this year. The work of all our employees, from our offices to out on site, have shown their professionalism and ability to deliver work to consistently high standards and demonstrating better-than-best practice. By winning the Demolition Contractor of the Year Award in the first year of the British Demolition Awards, we have set the bar extremely high for future events.”
