Erith teamed up with local businesses at the Apprenticeship Careers Event earlier this week which was hosted by the London Borough of Bexley. The event, which was held at the Council Chamber in Bexley’s Civic Offices, included a variety of organisations, comprising of CITB, Thames Water and Laing O’Rourke.
The careers fair was aimed at young residents and their parents/carer in an attempt to promote apprenticeships at all levels from traineeships to higher apprenticeships. It is important that the local young community are achieving their full potential and the event provided them with a platform to enable this.
Erith, represented by members of Erith Training Services (ETS), were on hand to provide curriculum advice, raise awareness of the construction industry, whilst offering support to those unsure about their path of progression. Topics of discussion included apprenticeship programmes, work placements, training and further education.
Robert Williams, Erith Training Services Director commented: “The youth of today are a crucial part of the future of the construction industry, it is imperative that Erith play their part in guiding the local younger community and unlock youth potential”.
