Social and Community
Published by Erith on 27 September 2021

Our strategic objectives and targets have been set in line with UN Sustainability Goals and with an increased focus on Social Value in the Construction Playbook, our approach to community engagement is a major focus.

Our continued commitment to our local communities ensures stakeholders are not only informed and protected from potential disruption but that we are providing economic benefit – by using local suppliers, local labour where possible and providing donations to support communities.

Our sites have initiated monthly foodbank donations and a storage facility was recently donated to a food bank charity close to our Erith head office.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the UK has seen an unprecedented rise in the reliance on foodbanks.  Laptops have been donated at our site in Ireland, where they were allocated to the Tech2Students initiative, at our Ebbsfleet project where they were donated to the local primary school and our National Grid framework project donated to a local school in Ashton-under-Lyne. A donation of laptops was also made to the Royal Borough of Greenwich where they were provided to children in care in the borough.  These donations have enabled students in disadvantaged circumstances to continue their education and engage in remote learning throughout the pandemic.
