Unlocking local potential

We were delighted to be able to take part in two face to face apprenticeship events in recent weeks, promoting our current apprenticeship and trainee opportunities to secondary school students, further education students and their parents.

The Apprenticeships in the Built Environment event was held in collaboration with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, The Education People and Kent County Council and took place at Ebbsfleet Academy, less than a mile from our Ebbsfleet offices.  Four of our current apprentices, Molly, Yasmin, Sonny and Harry did a fantastic job speaking to the visitors about the qualifications they are working towards, their prospective career paths and ambitions.  They were supported by Earthworks and Infrastructure Contracts Manager, Lee Crawley, Training Manager, Jim Gostling and our Apprenticeship Co-ordinator, Yvette Iveson to raise the awareness of careers available within our business and in the wider construction industry.

Maidstone’s Apprenticeship Fair, organised by four local MPs, took place at Maidstone Leisure Centre after a two-year hiatus.   Over 1,500 local students attended from schools across North Kent.  Molly, Yasmin, Sonny, and Harry again attended to provide details of their experiences and an interactive Erith TV presentation displayed our current apprenticeship and trainee opportunities.

These events provide the younger local communities with the guidance necessary to unlock their future potential and we are planning to attend further events across Kent and London in the coming months.

For further information on our current range of opportunities please see our Careers page or contact apprenticeships@erith.com
