Historically, asbestos was widely distributed throughout rail networks – predominantly in stations, signal boxes, depots and outbuildings. It was also used to insulate signalling and other electrical equipment beside the railway line.
The continuity of transport is of fundamental importance, requiring Erith to remain adaptable to work at the most unsociable hours. Work within this sector often requires the ability to operate within confined spaces and out of peak hours; Erith’s 24 hour waste transfer station allows the ability to work throughout the night.
