Site Administrator
Barry, Cardiff

We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Administrator to join our team at Aberthaw Power Station in Barry, Cardiff.

The primary role of the Site Administrator is to work as part of the project team being responsible for the control of documentation on a day to day basis.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting the site management team
  • Checking and responding to emails as required on Outlook
  • Filing of site documents
  • Uploading of site documents onto our online portal
  • Use of our online order system (Coins) to place orders and approve invoices
  • Completing timesheets every Monday morning
  • Updating office signage as and when required
  • Keeping the Training Matrix up to date for all staff on site and book training as and when required.
  • Logging all waste and import notes on site
  • Updating and maintaining records of sickness and holiday requests
  • Overall office management and support

Business Development Coordinator/Bid Writer
Erith, Kent

Bid Writer/Business Development Coordinator to support our Bid Team. The role will be based in Erith and involve the production of tender/PQQ proposals in order to develop our existing client base.

This position is immediate and the role would be permanent for the right candidate.

Responsibilities for this role will include the following:

  • Responsible for the timely planning, management and completion of the allocated sections of PQQ and tender submissions
  • Planning, writing and coordinating responses to bids and tenders
  • Compiling, updating and maintaining a library of company standard tender documentation and model answers
  • Build internal and external relationships with individuals associated with the bid process in order to create quality bids
  • Develop a creative approach to the writing and presentation of bids

Site Office Manager
North West England

We are looking for site office manager for our upcoming projects in the North West – starting with Bootle, Liverpool.

You will support the site management team with the following activities:

Administrative tasks: performing administrative tasks, including data entry, paperwork and ensuring the required materials are delivered to the worksite. Typically dealing with logistical and clerical tasks on complex projects.

Document control/co-ordination: monitoring the project from start to finish, ensuring that necessary documents are prepared during each stage and that work adheres to regulations.

Office management: as a site administrator, you will be responsible for overall office management including ordering supplies, updating and maintaining records and site registers, writing reports, managing interface with contractors and project teams.

Ensuring compliance with safety requirements: supervision of adherence to all applicable regulations and guidelines. Ensuring workers have protective equipment to avoid injuries and that the construction site is sealed off to avoid endangering the public.

Previous experience is preferred.

Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.

An opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager with a minimum of five years’ experience to join our expanding Earthworks and Infrastructure Division. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will have worked in similar roles and take responsibility for chairing client meetings with full regular full client liaison, cost control and budget monitoring, risk monitoring, DTMs, project meetings and health and safety. Oversee all coordination of the works, managing the teams and client facing lead.

We are looking for an experienced Earthworks and Infrastructure Project Manager to join our team with a minimum of 5 years experience in managing works on site, predominantly within the scope of earthworks. Remediation experience would be advantageous as is an exemplary Health and Safety compliance record.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will manage the project site team, design team and subcontractors as required.

Specific responsibilities include

Site Technician - Swantest
London

Company overview:

Swantest is a specialist company providing structural testing, investigation, remedial and strengthening solutions for complex projects. We are a team of multi-disciplined engineers who can provide a wide range of specialist site services to the construction, demolition and civil engineering industry.

Site technician role overview: 

We are looking to employ an experienced site technician to join our testing division to work on a range of site investigation projects across London and the home counties.

The main duties of the role will involve driving from site to site, carrying out tests and recording results to allow our engineers to compile reports for clients. You will be provided with and trained in the use of various specialist testing equipment and undertaking in-situ testing, including:

  • Plate Bearing Tests
  • Shear Vane Tests
  • Dynamic cone penetrometer tests

Swantest also carry out a number of other structural tests; such as pull out tests, load capacity tests, barrier tests, and more. The right candidate will also be shown how to carry out these tests to assist our team across the division.

This list is not exhaustive, and the candidate will be expected to take a leading role, get actively involved and become an integral part of the team.

Candidates as a minimum should have the following capabilities:

  • At least 1 year on site experience as a site technician or material testing
  • Numeracy and literacy to GCSE level C or equivalent
  • Capable of impartially recording data and keeping site records
  • Clear communicator, both written and spoken English
  • Clean UK manual driving licence – company van will be provided
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel and
  • Some knowledge of structures and construction materials
  • Willing to work on site in adverse weather conditions
