Erith Haulage welcomes applications from professionally minded and experienced HGV drivers of all categories. Based at our Operations Centre in Ebbsfleet, Kent, Erith operate a variety of HGV vehicles including Tippers, Roll on-offs,  and Grabs. You must hold the relevant qualifications including:

Valid Driving Licence for vehicle type

Valid DQC card (Driver CPC)

Valid Driver Tachograph Digicard.

Relevant competency card E.G. HIAB crane (if applicable)

 

All HGV Driver’s responsibilities will include

Undertaking designated work safely, legally and with consideration.

Ensuring roadworthiness and security of vehicle at all times

Maintaining appropriate legal records (Tacho and WTD)

Adhering to company procedures whilst working tidily and professionally

Flexibility in working hours and attitude

Alternate Sat working is required on most vehicles

Job description

Bid Writer/Business Development Coordinator to support our Bid Team. The role will be based in Erith and involve the production of tender/PQQ proposals in order to develop our existing client base.

This position is immediate and the role would be permanent for the right candidate.

Responsibilities for this role will include the following:

• Responsible for the timely planning, management and completion of the allocated sections of PQQ and tender submissions
• Planning, writing and coordinating responses to bids and tenders
• Compiling, updating and maintaining a library of company standard tender documentation and model answers
• Build internal and external relationships with individuals associated with the bid process in order to create quality bids
• Develop a creative approach to the writing and presentation of bids
• Reviewing all bid submissions for quality and accuracy
• Maintain a high level of market intelligence and best practice in order to create winning bids
• Identifying opportunities to enhance and improve the process, whilst sharing best practice with the team
• Have a clear understanding and interpretation of the questions within the PQQ and tender documents
• Be able to construct relevant answers which clearly answer the clients question and portray the company in the best possible light
• Ensure accuracy and up to date information is placed in all tender and PQQ documents
• Ensure the quality of the response meets the company standards
• Undertake research for the team to improve bid content
• Create/assist with PowerPoint presentations
• Construct flow/organisation charts to support bid proposals

Our asbestos department is looking to recruit Contracts Managers to work from our London/South East and Wakefield offices.

The role will involve assisting our existing management team in the day to day operations of providing a service to an in-house and external client base.

Working from our Kent office, we are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Manager with a focus on passive fire protection. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with passive fire protection, coupled with a thorough understanding of fire safety regulations. This role demands expertise in compliance with accreditation bodies such as FIRAS, as well as proficiency in conducting fire stopping surveys and identifying compartmentation breaches.

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all passive fire protection measures comply with current UK fire safety regulations, including Approved Document B and BS 9999.
• Fire Doors and Fire Stopping: Oversee and manage the installation, inspection, quality and maintenance of fire doors and fire stopping systems.
• Accreditations Management: Work closely with accreditation bodies such as FIRAS to maintain and achieve necessary certifications.
• Fire Stopping Surveys and Fire Door Surveys: Conduct comprehensive fire stopping and fire door surveys, identifying compartmentation breaches and recommending appropriate remediation.
• Training and Development: Provide training to staff and clients on fire safety regulations and passive fire protection best practices.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all inspections, surveys, and compliance activities, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.

Required Skills and Experience:
 

• Qualifications: FPA training, NVQ in a relevant field, or other similar qualifications. A FIDAS qualification is highly desirable.
• Experience: Extensive experience in passive fire protection.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of up-to-date fire safety regulations, including Approved Document B, BS 9999, and relevant industry standards.
• Accreditation Experience: Proven experience working with BM TRADA or FIRAS, understanding how these accreditations operate.
• Surveying Skills: Experience in fire door surveying and identifying compartmentation breaches.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with fire stopping apps like Bolster, Onetrace, and Boris. Proficiency in creating plan drawings using recognised software.

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Manage all aspects of passive fire protection projects
• Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies

Site technician role overview:

We are looking to employ an experienced site technician to join our testing division to work on a range of site investigation projects across London and the home counties.

The main duties of the role will involve driving from site to site, carrying out tests and recording results to allow our engineers to compile reports for clients. You will be provided with and trained in the use of various specialist testing equipment and undertaking in-situ testing, including:

• • Plate Bearing Tests
  • Shear Vane Tests
  • Dynamic cone penetrometer tests

• • Swantest also carry out a number of other structural tests; such as pull out tests, load capacity tests, barrier tests, and more. The right candidate will also be shown how to carry out these tests to assist our team across the division.
