PROJECT
Royal Borough of Greenwich
Our contract with the Royal Borough of Greenwich, includes both reactive and planned maintenance across the council’s property portfolio of 22,500 domestic properties, including licensed/non-licensed asbestos removal from social housing.
Due to the consistent and exemplary service levels we have maintained, we have been commissioned to engage with other commercial buildings within the client portfolio and outside of the original contract scope, including schools, colleges, law courts, council offices and factories.
Technical challenges
The contract involves the asbestos removal from both occupied and un-occupied properties.
We continuously monitor security, customer satisfaction and site cleanliness whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the occupier and neighbouring residents.

All projects are accompanied by a site-specific peer-reviewed HSG247 compliant RAMS document. This includes specific risks and requirements towards the tenant and includes vulnerable adults, the elderly and infirm, children and animals. It also consists of any safeguarding considerations.

Our in-house compliance team conducts random unannounced site audits to ensure that exemplary standards of workmanship and health and safety are being adhered to as part of the 1,000 site audits completed a year.

This is in addition to unannounced audits by the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) and external H&S consultants.

Works include the removal of asbestos insulating board (AIB) boxing to kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and garages, cement ceilings, textured coating, single cement panels, floor tiles soffits, flues, guttering, contaminated lofts, textured coating, cement bath panels, ceilings, garage and shed roofs.
THE DETAIL

Added value

Throughout this contract, we have worked in partnership with Royal Borough of Greenwich to act as its ‘subject matter expert’, including delivering asbestos awareness training to its staff and any new starters. This is to ensure all personnel engaged within this contract fully understand the requirements and the necessity for all parties to remain compliant with legislation in adherence with our three-year HSE asbestos removals licence.
