We continue to focus on the training and competence of our employees, ensuring we are able to provide the high-quality service required to go beyond the expectation of our clients.

We have championed the Demolition Trailblazer Apprenticeship in partnership with London South East Colleges, the NFDC and NDTG.

The scheme offers a “Demolition Operative Apprenticeship Standard” teaching the skills, training, knowledge and behaviours required whilst earning a full time wage.  As well as providing an extensive introduction into the industry, it covers health and safety awareness, tools of the trade, cutting techniques, soft stripping, lifting operations, demolition strategies, remote-controlled and tracked demolition machinery as well as competencies in maths, English, IT, employability and communication.

We currently have nine apprentices, three of whom are part of the Trailblazer Scheme.

Sarah commenced her apprenticeship at Arthur Street working alongside the Project Manager for a year.  She participated in on-site training courses including dumper driving, oxy-propane cutting as well as carrying out hand and mechanical soft stripping and demolition under supervision.  Sarah then worked at Aldermaston where she drove a dumper and completed her MEWP and Roller tickets.  Now at our Tilbury Docks project, Sarah is shadowing the site supervisor and learning the skills required for her final assessment to pass her NVQ and receive her labourer’s card.

Jason worked at Aylesbury Estate until September 2020 and learnt various skills including Hot Works, Oxy Propane and CAT and GENNY.  Jason has been on site at Tilbury since with Sarah preparing for his final assessment.
