Supporting local communities throughout Covid-19
Published by Erith on 18 February 2021
We have continued to provide support to communities local to our offices and sites with the recent donation of a storage container to Slade Green Food Bank at St Augustine’s Church for the safe storage of donated food supplies. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been an unprecedented rise in the reliance on foodbanks and the donation will ensure that the local food bank in Slade Green will be able to continue their efforts supporting people in need.

Elsewhere, our current project in Peterborough has initiated a generous monthly food box donation to their local foodbank as well as providing “Warm Home Packs” to local families in need.  Each pack contains hot water bottles, blankets and draught excluders.

A donation has been made to the Cherry Orchard Primary Academy, situated within the ongoing Ebbsfleet Garden City project.  5 new laptops have been donated to the school to support their underprivileged pupils with home learning.  With schools closed due to the pandemic, students are reliant upon computers at home to engage in remote learning, with these laptops helping students who may not have access to their own computers.

Declan Cogley, Earthworks and Infrastructure Operations Director “Covid 19 continues to have a dramatic effect on the education sector and we are proud to be able to support the learning of pupils within the Ebbsfleet community.”
